Kitten calling

Scrapper's delights - SHOP
Scrapper's Delights - BLOG

With our darling Draco - you also get several word digis to add into the space in the heart.  But - you know me - wayyyy too simple an option.  Now, because of the format the digi files are made in - you can just make them bigger.  So instead of adding the sentiment into the centre of the heart - or under the image - or what ever - why not make it L-A-R-G-E and use it as the focus for the card.

I have tried to keep this simple so it would do for a chap as well - the colouring is just Starlight gel pen.  I have recently gone back to using the Gelly Roll pens - it's no good - they are just the best!  I found everything else drys out very quickly - even the Copic one are not as jucey - you just have to make sure you wait for it to dry and not smudge it ;-)

Digital Stamps and Copic Markers? Can They Work Together?

You bet they can.
The first thing you want to do is get a good quality glossy card stock. I use either Neenan Solar White card stock or Bazzill Smooth White card stock.  You are going to need to test out how your printer ink interacts with the Copic Markers.  I found that one of these two things work well  Printing out the image and heat setting the ink with my embossing gun, or spraying the printed image with a sealer.  Our new printer requires that I spray a sealer onto the imagine to keep the ink from smudging, bleeding and running.

First I printed out two copies of the image that we are using today. You can get this wonderful flower basket here. Before I printed them out I put a border around the image, this is going to become part of the card we will be making today.  I took it outside and sprayed it lightly with the Grumbacher sealer , and gave it a few minutes to completely dry.  Once that was done, I rough cut out one of the baskets (we will be using this as a layer on the finished card)

After the sealer dried I went and fussy cut one of the baskets out as well as the framed image. I will be using my Crayola colored pencils and Gamsol to color in the basket.  Crayola colored pencils work great with the Gamsol, because it breaks down the wax evenly causing the colors to blend beautifully.
Lets look at the steps I took with the colored pencils and Gamsol.

I hope you can see how I used multible layers of colored pencils and Gamsol to create some depth of colors and hopefully make the wood in the basket look realistic.

Now lets check out what we can do with the Copic Markers.  Always choose a smooth glossy card stock because this allows the the ink to be pushed and blended.
Let's take a look at how I did this.

As you can see here I colored the flowers in with my Copic Markers. The colors I used were YR 09, YR 02, G03, Y02, Y11,  E11, E07, and E49.

I then used brown, burgundy and clear Stickles to fill in the inside of the flowers.
While this was drying I printed out my background paper using the same image but much smaller and in a light sepia tone, on a patterned paper. Can you see how I used the same image in a completely different way?  After that was printed out (I did not need to seal it because I already had the color tones that I wanted.) I cut it down to size and started to build my card.

The first thing I did was to glue the ribbon onto the fussy cut part of the basket.I then attached that to the Copic Marker colored flowers basket. Now my Image was done. I cut it out of the rough cut at the border line and then attached it to the base of the card that was wrapped in ribbon.
This is the finished project!
I hope you like it and please check out the other ways in which you can use this stamp at www.scrapppersdelights.com

See you soon!

Draco - Miss You

So excited to be posting my very first card for Scrapper's Delight. I instantly fell in love with this adorable creature, Draco - and I've been missing my bestee and wanted to send her a cute card... This image was just perfect for what I wanted! It goes in the mail tomorrow!
I started by coloring him with my beloved Copics, using my blender pen to create the dots on him. I also used my Copics on the sentiment to add some color to it. I added the fun striped paper as a background, then used some great papers from DCWV and fussy cut the circle paper to create the edge up the left side. I added the fun dotted paper strip to the center and then my image, which is popped off the background. I had some ribbon in my stash that matched the papers just perfectly. Then to complete it, I punched out some more of the circles and added them with more pop dots, just here and there. I think he turned out wonderfully!

Innocent or not???

Hi, Ria here again with another card made for Scrapper's Delight. I love Janice's pixies. These are my favs out of them all. Untill she draws a new character and that will become my new FAV :) hahhaha
Well I don't know how you all print your images? but I like to pick a few and arrange them in a photoediting program on a A4 sheet of paper before I print them and resize them. This means that sometimes my images are a bit to large hahahha this also happened with this Dragonfly Pixie image. She was way to large for on a normal 6x6 card yes she is big!! hihi so what did I do? I used my nestabilities to cut out a part of her. So okay she doesn't has legs now but it sure makes the Dragonfly pixie more innocent looking ;)

I coloured her with Copics and added Stickles to her wings.
I hope you all like her as much as I do :)

Also don't forget to come back on sunday as we will be having a new challenge go live!! See yah all there :)
